The 2003 America East Golf Championship will be a 36-hole event held Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29 at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y. A practice round will be held the afternoon of Sunday, April 27.
Four America East member institutions?Binghamton University, Boston University, University of Hartford and University of Vermont?will compete at the 2003 Golf Championship.
The America East Championship consists of 36 holes of stroke play. The four players with the low scores on a team (of five) for each 18-hole round will constitute the scoring members of the team for that round, and the team with the lowest total combined score for both rounds will be the team champion.
Last season Hartford placed four of the top five golfers at Cyprian Keyes Golf Course in Boylston, Mass. en route to its second-straight championship. Jeff Campbell shot a 73-77-150, Miroslav Holub a 75-76-151, Chris Holmes a 74-78-152 and first-round leader Greg Folsom a 71-82-153 for the Hawks. Dean Carrigan, who shot a 79 for the Hawks on the first day, factored into the scoring on Day II with an 80.
Binghamton junior Adam Fuchs shot a 74-75-149 to earn medalist honors.
