The 2004 America East Men’s and Women’s Golf Championship will be a 36-hole event held Monday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 4 at Blackledge Country Club in Hebron, Conn. A practice round will be held the afternoon of Sunday, May 2.
Five America East member institutions?University at Albany (women’s only), Binghamton University (men’s only), Boston University, University of Hartford and University of Vermont (men’s only)?will compete at the 2004 Golf Championship.
The America East Championship consists of 36 holes of stroke play. The four players with the low scores on a team (of five) for each 18-hole round will constitute the scoring members of the team for that round, and the team with the lowest total combined score for both rounds will be the team champion.
Last season Binghamton won the men’s championship with a two day team total of 581. Binghamton, which received at-large bid to last year’s NCAA Golf Championship, was led by Joe Kunz’s championship record tying two day score of 143. The Bearcats took the top three spots with Adam Fuchs (72-73-145) and Brad Moulton (73-74-147) following Kunz. This year will mark the first ever America East Women’s Golf Championship.
