Binghamton’s Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca) has been named the America East Men’s Golf Performer of the Week. There were no Women’s honors was given this week. The Award was announced Monday (April 5).

Wolniewicz was runnerup out of 99 golfers at the Drew Upton Towson Classic after shooting 74-72 (+2) at the 7,005-yard Great Hope Golf Course in Westover, Md. Wolniewicz finished his final round with back-to-back birdies and registered six birdies in the 36-hole event. Binghamton’s No. 1 man, he finished the fall season with a 73.1 scoring average – the lowest average in the entire New England region. For the season, he has placed among the top-10 in seven of eight tournaments, including earning medallist honors at the Yale MacDonald Cup. At that event, Wolniewicz fired a final-round 66 to claim the championship and carry Binghamton to the team title as well. The Bearcats are aiming for the program’s third consecutive NCAA at-large berth later this spring.
