University of Vermont men’s basketball coach Tom Brennan will throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park in recognition of Vermont Day this Sunday, May 23.
“We would like you to bring some of that good University of Vermont karma to Fenway Park for Vermont Day on Sunday,” said Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino on Brennan’s radio show this morning.
Brennan has led the Catamounts for the past 17 seasons and has guided them to two back-to-back America East Championships and Vermont’s first ever appearances in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. He holds the longest tenure of any Vermont coach and has recorded 217 victories, which ranks him second all-time in the Catamount record books.
Sunday’s Red Sox game against the Toronto Blue Jays is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
