2002 Golf Championship
The 2002 America East Golf Championship will be a 36-hole event held Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30 at a course to be determined. A practice round will be held the afternoon of Sunday, April 28.
Four America East member institutions—Binghamton University, Boston University, University of Hartford and University of Vermont—will compete at the 2002 Golf Championship.
The America East Championship consists of 36 holes of stroke play. The four players with the low scores on a team (of five) for each 18-hole round will constitute the scoring members of the team for that round, and the team with the lowest total combined score for both rounds will be the team champion.
Sophomore Jeff Campbell won medalist honors as he led the University of Hartford to the 2001 America East Golf Championship at Great Hope Golf Course in Westover, Md. It was the Hawks first championship since 1995. Campbell fired a 76 today for a three-day 221 (74-71-76), six stokes ahead of teammate Miroslav Holub (76-75-76) and Josh Upton (76-75-76) of Towson University. The Hawks shot a team total of 900, 36 strokes ahead of second-place Towson (317-310-309).
