Men's Lacrosse 3/9/2026 11:00:00 AM #AEMLAX Week 5: UAlbany, Bryant & NJIT Earn Winss BOSTON – Bryant, UAlbany and NJIT earned victories last week, while Vermont nearly took down No. 19 UMass, with conference play right around the corner. Need to Know: NJIT opened the week with a 9-5 victory over Monmouth and then fell to Wagner on Saturday, moving to 3-4 on the season. UAlbany won its lone contest last week, taking down Hobart 14-10 at home behind seven points from Silas Richmond. Bryant was also a winner last week, 11-7 over St. John’s. Vermont had a chance to tie in the final seconds but came up just short, 7-6, to No. 19 UMass on Saturday. Up Next: This week UMass Lowell faces Queens and UAlbany battles No. 15 Georgetown in a midweek contests. Conference play starts on Saturday as Binghamton hosts UMass Lowell and Vermont welcomes UMBC. Bryant travels to UAlbany, while NJIT hosts Jacksonville in a non-conference contest. #AEMLAX Weekly Award Winners – Mar. 9 Offensive Player of the Week Silas Richmond, UAlbany – Sr., Attack, Delta, B.C. Scored three times and dished off four assists in a 14-10 win over Hobart. Added five ground balls to his seven points in the victory. This is Richmond’s second #AEMLAX Player of the Week honor this season. Defensive Player of the Week Luke Mead, Bryant – Sr., Defense, Charlestown, R.I. Finished with four ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 11-7 win at St. John’s. This is Mead’s first #AEMLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. Goalkeeper of the Week Ryan Daly, Vermont – Jr., Goalkeeper, Norwell, Mass. Finished with 13 saves and allowed just seven goals against No. 19 UMass. Gave up just five goals on even strength. This is Daly’s first #AEMLAX Goalkeeper of the Week honor. Face-Off Specialist of the Week Walter Zhao, Vermont – Jr., Face-Off, Millstone, N.J. Won 15 of 17 face-offs with 10 ground balls against No. 19 UMass in a 7-6 loss. This is Zhao’s third #AEMLAX Faceoff Specialist honor this season. Rookie of the Week Blake Piscitiello, NJIT – Fr., Attack, Lakeville, Minn. Finished with six points on four goals and two assists in a 1-1 week. Had two goals and one assist in a 9-5 victory over Monmouth.
