#AESD Week 2: Three Teams Earn Victories

  • Set a new NJIT pool record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:59.01.
  • Earned a first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay and placed second in the 200-yard individual medley.
  • Also finished third in the 400-yard individual medley.
 

Diver of the Week
Anders Logas, UMBC – Gr. – Carrollton, Texas

  • Competed in both diving events at the Navy and William & Mary double-dual meet.
  • Placed sixth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 273.68.
  • Also finished seventh in the 3-meter dive with a score of 261.23.
 

Rookie of the Week
Turner Wiand, UMBC – Fr. – Fort Mill, S.C.

  • Placed third overall in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.30 at the Navy and William & Mary double-dual meet.
  • Finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (50.96) and 10th in the 50-yard freestyle (21.73).
  • Recorded a 23.73 leadoff split in the 200-yard medley relay.
 

Women's Swimming & Diving
Swimmer of the Week
Ruby Tonelli-Smith, Bryant – Jr. – Sydney, Australia

  • Swept the butterfly events against Fairfield, winning the 100-yard butterfly in 55.49 and the 200-yard butterfly in 2:02.25.
  • Helped Bryant capture first place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.06.
  • Contributed to three first-place finishes in Bryant's October 9 meet against Fairfield.
 

Diver of the Week
Megan Beasley, Bryant – Sr. – Harrogate, England

  • Swept both diving events in Bryant's meet against Fairfield.
  • Captured first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 249.90.
  • Also earned first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 275.48.
 

Rookie of the Week
Eunice Cheung, UMBC – Fr. – East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada

  • Placed fourth overall in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:08.22 at the Navy and William & Mary double-dual meet.
  • Also finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.90.
  • Recorded a 26.32 butterfly split in the 200-yard medley relay and a 53.87 split in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
