BOSTON – Three America East women’s soccer teams posted unbeaten weeks as Binghamton, Maine and Vermont combined to go 4-0-1 and made it through the week unscathed. In all, #AEWSOC teams were victorious or deadlocked 11 of the 17 games played last week.
Need to Know
- Binghamton was the lone #AEWSOC squad to go 2-0 last week as the Bearcats downed Marist, 2-1, on Thursday and George Washington, 4-1, on Sunday.
- Jahkaya Davis tallied eight points on three goals and two assists over the two games and earned America East Offensive Player of the Week honors as a result.
- Davis leads the league and ranks among the nation’s best is several offensive categories, including third with three game-winning goals and 11th with five goals and 18th with 12 points.
- After starting the season 0-2, two-time defending champion Maine responded with a 1-0-1 week, beating Merrimack, 3-2, on Thursday and tying Army, 2-2, on Sunday.
- Vermont got goals from Lauren Degroot and Sydney Remington in a 2-0 win over Stonehill, its first win of the season.
- UMBC earned its third non-conference win on Thursday as it beat Longwood, 1-0.
- Sixteen more non-league games take place this week.
- Conference play starts on September 20. All nine teams will play eight league games, facing eavery other conference opponent once. The top six teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify for the 2025 America East Women’s Soccer Championship.

Offensive Player of the Week
Jahkaya Davis, Binghamton – So., Forward, Mississauga, Ont.
- Tallied a league-best 8 points on three goals and assists in a 2-0 week.
- Impacted both goals in Binghamton’s 2-1 win over Marist on Thursday, setting up the Bearcats’ first score and then netting the game winner.
- Followed up with two goals, including another game winner, and a helper in a 4-1 over George Washington on Sunday.
- This is Davis’ first career #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kylee Carafoli, Vermont – Sr., Goalkeeper, Plymouth, Mass.
- Stopped all three shots she faced a Vermont’s 2-0 win over Stonehill on Sunday.
- The shutout is the sixth of her career.
- This is Carafoli’s first #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season and second of her career (8/28/23).
Rookie of the Week
Enya Carthy, NJIT – Fr., Goalkeeper, Haddonfield, N.J.
- Didn’t allow a goal in 135 minutes of action across two games.
- Made four saves without allowing a score.
- Recorded her first career shutout vs. Rider.
- This is Carthy’s first career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week honor.
