Track & Field 6/5/2025 9:19:34 AM Six #AETF Student-Athletes Qualify for NCAA Championships BOSTON – Following an impressive spring, six America East student-athletes have qualified for the NCAA Track & Field Championships, which will be held from June 11-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. It is the highest number of #AETF student-athletes to qualify since 2016. UMass Lowell’s James Kotowski is the first athlete to compete as he looks for a national title in the javelin on Wednesday at 5:15 PT. He is seeded 15th in the event from his throw of 69.89 meters in Regionals. He has a season-best through of 74.09 meters this season. Louis Gordon makes it back to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2023 after winning the NCAA East Regional with a career-best leap of 7.83 meters. He will compete on Wednesday at 5:40 PT and is seeded seventh going into the event. Marcus Johnson of Binghamton competes in the 400 meter hurdles semifinals on Wednesday at 6:14 PT. Should he advance to the finals he will compete on Friday. Johnson is seeded 17th in the event after a school-record time of 49.93 seconds in the NCAA Regionals. Beatriz Mora-Herencia from UAlbany will throw the javelin on Thursday at 5:15 PT. The freshman is seeded 24th in the javelin thanks to her throw of 49.42 meters in the NCAA Regionals. New Hampshire’s Ruth White will race in the 10,000 meters on Thursday night at 6:56 PT. The freshman ran a career-best 32:50 in the NCAA Regionals to seed her sixth going into the race. Iosif Papa of UMBC will compete in his first NCAA Championship on Friday at 2:15 PT in the discus. The America East champion used a throw of 58.02 meters to place ninth overall in regionals and qualify. He is seeded 21st overall in the event. In the past nine years 30 America East student-athletes have qualified for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This is the third straight year that three America East student-athletes will be competing on the national stage.
