Six Standouts Named Spring Scholar-Athletes

BOSTON – The 2024-25 America East Spring Scholar-Athletes were announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. These outstanding student-athletes from four different schools have displayed excellence both academically and athletically throughout their collegiate careers.
 
All four of the of the team sport honorees led their teams to a regular season or tournament championship this past spring, while both of the track honorees won individual America East Titles in May.
 
Baseball: Zach Rogacki, Binghamton
  • Graduated with a 3.75 GPA majoring in biological sciences.
  • Earned America East All-Academic honors and was the baseball Elite 18 award recipient.
  • Was a first-team All-Conference selection this season after hitting .361 with 74 hits, 17 doubles, eight home runs and 43 RBI.
  • Helped lead Binghamton to the 2025 America East baseball title and earned All-Championship honors.
 
 Men’s Lacrosse: Ryan Doherty, UAlbany
  • Carries a 3.94 GPA majoring in business/political science.
  • Was named to the America East All-Academic team this past season.
  • Earned second-team All-Conference honors after pacing the league with 45 goals and ranking second with 61 points.
  • Helped lead UAlbany to the men’s lacrosse title.
 
Women’s Lacrosse: Jade Catlin, UMass Lowell
  • Graduated with a 3.74 GPA in political science.
  • Named to the conference’s All-Academic team.
  • Earned America East Attacker of the Year honors and first-team All-Conference recognition.
  • Helped UMass Lowell capture its first-ever America East regular-season title by scoring a league-best 51 goals this past season.
 
Softball: Emma Lawson, Binghamton
  • The junior carries a 3.86 GPA majoring in human development.
  • Earned America East All-Academic honors.
  • Received NFCA First-Team All-Region recognition and was a first-team All-Conference choice at first base.
  • Earned All-Championship honors after helping Binghamton capture its first America East title since 2015 after hitting .379 with nine home runs, 16 doubles and 51 RBI.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field: Ryan Slaney, Bryant
  • The senior graduated with a 4.0 GPA in finance
  • Earned All-Academic honors once again.
  • Won the 10,000 meters at the 2025 America East Outdoor Championship in 29:13.28, breaking the 8-year-old record by nearly 50 seconds.
  • Took 3rd in the 5k (14:17.19) at the conference championship with the fourth fastest time in league history.  
 
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field: Jennifer Mui, Binghamton
  • The senior graduated with a 3.98 GPA in biological sciences.
  • Earned All-Academic honors this spring.
  • Won a second straight America East Title in the steeplechase and part of third place 4x800 relay.
  • Qualified for the NCAA East Regionals in steeplechase, taking 37th in the meet with a time of 10:35.79.
