MYSTIC, Conn. – In just its third year as a member of the America East, Bryant claimed the 2024-25 Stuart P. Haskell, Jr. Commissioner's Cup thanks to an impressive spring, as announced by the conference on Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs won the Commissioner’s Cup after totaling a league-best 154 points in the spring, which included three regular season titles and a runner-up finish in softball. Bryant finished with 352 total points, edging second place UAlbany by 12 points. The Bulldogs also claimed its first men’s basketball championship in March and reached its second straight championship game in men’s soccer during the fall.

Need to Know
- Bryant won its first Commissioner’s Cup after finishing third in 2023-24 (313 pts) and eighth in 2022-23 (219).
- UAlbany has finished first or second for 14 consecutive years after winning six conference titles, including four in the spring.
- UAlbany recorded the second-highest spring sports total, with 134 points after winning championships in men’s & women’s outdoor track & field, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse.
- Binghamton, winner of the past two Commissioner’s Cup titles, took third with 308 total points. The Bearcats won three conference championships during the academic year, including the final two: baseball and softball.
- This marks the second straight year, but only the second time since 2016-17 that three schools have surpassed 300 points.
- Vermont field hockey and Bryant men’s basketball were the only first-time champions in 2024-25, though UNH women’s cross country, UNH volleyball and Binghamton softball ended championship droughts of at least five years.
- New Hampshire’s fourth place finish with 261 points is its highest finish since the 2017-18 year.
- Just 14 points separated teams 4-7 in this year’s standings.
- Eight different schools claimed at least one regular season championship in 2023-24.
Bulldog Excellence
- Bryant captured its first regular season titles in men’s lacrosse, men’s basketball and women’s lacrosse this year.
- Since the Bulldogs joined the league prior to the 2022-23 academic year they have won regular season or conference titles in men’s soccer, men’s basketball, baseball, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse.
- This past year Bryant had six runner-up finishes: men’s soccer, women’s swimming & diving, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, baseball and softball.
- Bryant had the highest point total of any school in the winter (127) and also in the spring (134).
- This year the Bulldogs became just the third school in league history to reach the championship game in four different spring championships, joining Stony Brook (2015) and UAlbany (2007).
- Eight schools captured at least one regular season championship in 2024-25.
Championship Streaks
- UAlbany women’s track and field won its 16th straight outdoor championship, the longest streak in league history.
- UMass Lowell men’s cross country earned its fifth straight America East Championship.
- UAlbany women’s lacrosse appeared in its 14th straight championship game, winning its second title in the past three seasons.
