Eugene, OR – For the first time since 2016, six #AETF student-athletes traveled to the University of Oregon to compete in the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The group combined for six All-America honors and one U.S. U20 record, highlighted by top-ten finishes from UMass Lowell's James Kotowski and UNH's Ruth White.
Day 1
James Kotowski of UMass Lowell, a 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials finalist, had his best collegiate outing in the javelin. On his second attempt, Kotowski recorded the second-best throw in the first flight with a toss of 75.00m, earning a spot in the finals.
He followed up with a throw of 75.18m on his fifth attempt—his farthest mark since throwing 75.69m at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials and his best performance in collegiate competition.
His new collegiate personal best secured him an 8th-place finish and First-Team All-America honors. He became the first men's First-Team All-American since UAlbany's Matthew Campbell in 2016, and first on the men's or women's side since Binghamton's Emily Mackay in 2022
UAlbany's Louis Gordon, the NCAA East Regional Champion, recording a 21st-place finish in the long jump. The senior jumper fouled his first attempt but logged a mark of 7.13m on his second jump, which stood as his best of the day.
Binghamton’s Marcus Johnson made his NCAA Championship debut, finishing seventh in heat two of the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.27 to place 22nd overall.
Both Gordon and Johnson earned Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Day 2
The women’s side of the meet New Hampshire’s Ruth White concluded her freshman season in the 10,000m with a 9th-place finish. She ran a school-record time of 32:20.60 to earn Second-Team All-America honors.
White’s performance also shattered the previous U.S. U20 record of 32:51.20, set by Harvard’s Lindsay Scherf in 2005.
UAlbany’s Beatriz Mora-Herencia, one of just three freshmen in the field. Her best throw came on her third attempt, reaching 43.83m and earning her Honorable Mention All-America honors.
