General 5/28/2025 9:55:33 PM Northeast Delta Dental Hero’s of the Game: Honoring Those Who Serve Our Communities ORONO, Maine - Last week at the 2025 Northeast Delta Dental America East Baseball Championship, Northeast Delta Dental and the America East honored several local service members who have made an impact in their communities. Each Hero of the Game was recognized prior to a game and given the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch. Read more about our hero’s below… Lieutenant Eleanore Rusk – United States Army Lieutenant Rusk is from Providence, Rhode Island and attended the University of Maine from 2021-2025. LT Rusk recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the School of Nursing and was Commissioned into the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. Chief Dan Merrill – Orono Police Department Chief Merrill has been with the Orono police department helping to keep his community safe for several years. Todd Schultz – Military Veteran Todd Schultz served our country for 26 years in the US Army as an aviator and Academic professor. Bailee Mitchell & Chief Kyle Milan – Old Town Fire Department Bailee’s bravery and quick thinking this past February saved her family's home from a potential house fire. Her courage in removing a burning log and making a critical 911 call exemplifies true heroism. Bailee was accompanied by Chief Kyle Milan and his firefighters from the Old Town Fire Department who responded to the 911 call.
