Bryant and Binghamton Set to Meet for Northeast Delta Dental Baseball Championship on Sunday

ORONO, Maine – No. 3 Binghamton continued its offensive explosion on Saturday with a 21-6 victory over UAlbany, while top seed Bryant advanced to the championship in the nightcap with an 8-2 win over the Great Danes on the third day of the Northeast Delta Dental Baseball Championship.

Binghamton became the first program to score 12+ runs in three straight #AEBASE Championship games with a season-high 21 runs against UAlbany. The Bearcats jumped on the Great Danes with seven in the bottom of the second and added four in the fifth and six in the seventh to put the game out of reach. They’ve now scored 50 runs in three wins this week.

Defending champion Bryant went off for six runs in the bottom of the first and then added two more over the final six innings while Bulldog pitching allowed just five hits, but none over the final four innings to earn the 8-2 victory.

Bryant and Binghamton will square off for the championship on Sunday at 12 pm. Should the Bulldogs win, they would have to beat the Bearcats a second time to claim the title as they’ve already lost once in the championship. A Binghamton win on Sunday would clinch a second title in the last four seasons.
