Baseball 5/20/2025 3:00:00 PM Bryant Claims Three #AEBASE Major Awards to Highlight All-Conference Honors BOSTON – After capturing its second straight #AEBASE regular season championship, Bryant took home three of four major awards and had a league-high eight All-Conference honorees as All-Conference, All-Rookie and All-Academic honors were released on Tuesday afternoon. Bulldog senior Drew Wyers was recognized as the Player of the Year, while teammate Michael Belcher earned Rookie of the Year honors and head coach Ryan Klosterman was selected as Coach of the Year for a second straight year. Maine’s Caleb Leys took home Pitcher of the Year honors. Award winners were determined in a vote by the league's head coaches who were not permitted to vote for their own players. The All-Academic selections were chosen by a committee of athletic administrators. 2025 #AEBASE Major Award Winners Len Harlow Player of the Year Drew Wyers, Bryant – Sr., Shortstop Led the league in average (.422), slugging (.734) and on-base percentage (.526). Ranked 7th nationally in average and first #AEBASE player since Travis Jankowski in 2012 to hit over .400 for a full season. Totaled 54 hits, 37 runs, 10 home runs and 46 RBI in the regular season. Second straight Bulldogs to earn Player of the Year honors. Pitcher of the Year Caleb Leys, Maine – Jr., Pitcher Led the league in ERA (2.44), while going 5-1 in 59.0 IP with 70 strikeouts. Second in the league with .233 average against and allowed just eight extra base hits. In #AEBASE action went 5-0 with a 1.10 ERA, 50 strikeouts, 33 hits and 41.0 IP. First Maine pitcher to win the award since 2021 and eighth overall. Rookie of the Year Michael Belcher, Bryant – Fr., Pitcher Went 3-0 in 12 starts, throwing 61.2 innings with a 4.09 ERA and 56 strikeouts. In #AEBASE play posted a 2-0 record with a 4.24 ERA in 40.1 innings with 31 strikeouts. Allowed 1 or fewer runs in three conference starts and Bryant won each of his last six starts. First Bryant player to be named Rookie of the Year and first pitcher since 2019 to win the award. Coach of the Year Ryan Klosterman, Bryant Led the Bulldogs to an 18-6 conference mark and 33-17-1 overall record to capture a second straight #AEBASE regular season title. Went 13-2 over the final 15 conference games. First team since Stony Brook in 2015 to win 33+ games in back-to-back seasons. Assisted by Tim Cronin, Will Kaufman, Alex Deonyelle and Adam Horowitz. In addition to major awards, All-Conference teams were also named. Bryant led all schools with eight selections, including five on the second team. Binghamton had a league-high five first-team honorees and six overall, matching NJIT who also had six for the second-most selections. NJIT led the way with four All-Academic selections, while Binghamton had a pair of honorees.
