#AEBASE Week 8: NJIT Moves Into First

BOSTON – NJIT took over first place in the standings with an impressive sweep while the UMBC and Maine both captured two of three to move up the standings as we approach the mid-point of the season.

The Highlanders swept UAlbany at home, winning 3-1, 7-1 and 7-5 to grab a 2-game lead over Binghamton in the #AEBASE standings. The Bearcats, meanwhile, fell twice to UMBC who came alive to win 19-9 and 11-6 in the opening two contest. Binghamton rebounded to win the final 14-7. Maine took two from UMass Lowell to move into a tie for second in the standings.

All seven programs compete during the week once again, including UMass Lowell at Boston College and Bryant at UConn. Binghamton looks to move up in the standings when they host Binghamton for three contests, while UMass Lowell welcomes UMBC for three. Maine travels to UAlbany as the Black Bears seek to extend their win streak.
