#AEBASE Week 9: Maine Sweeps Into Second

BOSTON – Maine had its best weekend of conference play, sweeping three from UAlbany to take over second place in the standings,  while Bryant swept Binghamton and UMBC took two from UMass Lowell.

The Black Bears started the weekend with a 3-2 win over UAlbany and then took both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday by scores of 11-3 and 12-1. Bryant, meanwhile, won at Binghamton by scores of 7-6, 12-4 and 6-5. UMBC took down UMass Lowell 5-4 and 8-2 on Friday and then the River Hawks came back to earn a 7-6 win in the finale. NJIT split with Wagner in non-conference action.

All seven programs compete during the week once again, with all seven teams at home on Tuesday or Wednesday. Bryant hosts UMass Lowell for three this weekend, while Binghamton welcomes first-place NJIT. UMBC travels up to Maine as the Black Bears look to extend their win streak.
