#AEMLAX Week 10: UMBC Secures #AEMLAX Playoff Berth

BOSTON – UMBC and Bryant remain atop the league standings while UMBC was able to secure a spot in the #AEMLAX Playoffs. The Retrievers dominated in a 17-7 win over Binghamton, which featured three players scoring a hat trick on Saturday. Bryant held on to secure a non-league win over Bucknell Saturday.

The Great Danes came out attacking on Saturday in a big conference match-up against Vermont. UAlbany jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first to help secure their third conference win of the season. UMass Lowell held on to secure their first conference win of the season over NJIT, posting a 10-8 victory Saturday at home.

Conference play continues with another three-game slate as NJIT hosts UMBC, Binghamton travels to Bryant, and Vermont takes on UMass Lowell on Saturday.

Offensive Player of the Week

Silas Richmond, UAlbany – Jr., Attack, Delta, B.C.
  • Tallied seven points in a win over Vermont on Saturday.
  • Had five goals and an two assists.
  • This is Richmond’s fourth #AEMLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Dylan Sharpe, UMBC – So., Defense, Crofton, Md.
  • Had four caused turnovers and six groundballs.
  • Help hold Binghamton to just seven goals in a win.
  • This is Sharpe’s first #AEMLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
AJ True, UMass Lowell – Fr., Goalkeeper, Manchester, N.H.
  • Stopped 12 of 20 shots he faced
  • Added five ground balls in a win over NJIT.
  • This is True’s second #AEMLAX Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season.
 
Faceoff Specialist of the Week
Alex Steers, UMBC – Jr., Faceoff Specialist, Westminster, Md.
  • Went 19-for-25 with seven ground balls in a win over Binghamton.
  • This is Steer’s first #AEMLAX Faceoff Specialist honor of the season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Zac Amend, Bryant – Fr., Midfield, Rye, N.H.
  • Had three goals and one assist in a non-league win over Bucknell.
  • This Amend’s third career #AEMLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
