Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Year and All-Academic Teams Revealed

BOSTON – The America East announced its male and female Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Year awards on Wednesday, along with the league’s All-Academic Teams.
 
The Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Year award honors the most outstanding male and female track or field performer over the course of the season. The award recognizes the athletes’ cumulative effort and entire overall body of work throughout the entire indoor track and field season. The Track and Field Performer of the Year award winners were determined in a vote by the league’s head coaches, who could not vote for their own players.
 
Also recognized this Wednesday were the men’s and women’s indoor track and field all-academic teams, featuring 20 student-athletes who excelled in the classroom and in their events during this past indoor season.
 
Male Track and Field Performer of the Year
Brian Luciano, Binghamton – So., Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
  • Named Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the 2025 #AETF Indoor Championship
  • Won a second straight America East Title in the weight throw with a personal best of 21.70 meters.
  • The mark so 21.70 meters was 31st in the nation during the indoor season and a new Binghamton school record.
  • Won six of the meets in which he competed during 2025.
 
Female Track and Field Performer of the Year
Chloe Whiting, Bryant – Jr., Randolph, N.J.
  • Honored as Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the 2025 #AETF Indoor Championship and won the Coaches Award for recording the most points (25) of any athlete competing in the championship.
  • Won America East Titles in the 5K (16:17.69) and the 3K (9:28.56), while taking fourth in the mile (4:57.04).
  • Set the school record in the 5K (16:11.17) during the season and was part of women’s 4x800 relay during indoor that also ran to a new school mark.
 
This year’s women’s All-Academic features four repeat selections from last year’s team, in Rebeca Valerie Barrientos Alpha, Jenna Chan, Cheyenne Figueroa and Alexandria Grasso. For Chan, this marks her third indoor All-Academic honor. In total seven different programs received All-Academic recognition.

The men had six repeat selections from last year’s All-Academic team, highlighted by Jaden Burke who makes his third appearance. Six of these year’s honorees also earned at least one gold medal at this year’s America East Championship and two more won gold in prior championships.
