BOSTON – NJIT opened conference with a sweep of UMBC, while Binghamton and UAlbany each went 2-1 in their opening series of the #AEBASE play.
The NJIT offense was rolling against UMBC, scoring 26 runs over the three games series to take over first place at 3-0. Binghamton captured 2 of 3 from Maine, scoring 15 runs in the two wins, while UAlbany took down defending champion Bryant twice in Smithfield and scored at least eight runs in each contest.
Six teams play midweek games before another full weekend of conference action this weekend. NJIT looks to keep its perfect mark on the line when they travel north to Orono. UAlbany hosts Binghamton as each team looks to keep up its strong start. Finally, UMass Lowell welcomes Bryant with each team 1-2 in league play thus far.

Player of the Week
Alex Luccini, UMass Lowell – Sr., Outfield, Hopedale, Mass.
- Hit .692 (9-13) while slugging 1.615 with a .778 on-base percentage in a 3-1 week.
- Went 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI and one home run in a 13-6 win over Le Moyne.
- Finished 3-for-3 with two RBI, a triple and home run in a 9-4 over Le Moyne.
- This is Luccini’s first career #AEBASE Player of the Week honor..
Pitcher of the Week
Dylan Banner, UAlbany – Jr., Pitcher, Plainview, N.Y.
- Went 8.0 innings, allowing four hits with two earned runs, two walks and seven strikeouts.
- Shut down the Bryant offense over 8.0 innings at home as UAlbany won the contest 9-4.
- This is Banner’s first career #AEBASE Pitcher of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Anthony Mascuilli, UMBC – Fr., Outfield, Levittown, N.Y.
- Batted .385 with a .600 on-base percentage with five runs for UMBC.
- Scored five runs in a 19-9 win over Coppin State to start the week
- Went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 7-6 loss to NJIT.
- This is Mascuilli’s second career #AEBASE Rookie of the Week honor.
