Quarterfinal action in the #AEPlayoffs gets underway on Thursday.
Once again, the excitement of postseason basketball will take place on a minimum of four America East campuses with the higher seeds hosting each round. The Great Danes earned their first No. 1 seed since 2016, while No. 2 Vermont will host once again. The final two top four seeds came down to the last day with Bryant earning the No. 3 seed and Maine securing the No. 4 seed.

- Vermont (18-12, 13-3 AE) – Third straight top three seed for the Catamounts who have reached each of the past two championship games, winning in 2022-23.
- Bryant (16-13, 9-7 AE) – Highest seed since joining America East and seeking first #AEPlayoffs win.

In the early contests, Bryant had the most impressive performance of the day, securing a 68-57 victory over Maine. That win, combined with UMBC’s loss assured the Bulldogs of a top-four seed. Bryant and Maine finished tied at 9-7 in the standings and Bryant won the tiebreak due to its better road record in conference play.
Elsewhere Vermont earned a ninth 20-point conference victory, 79-59 over UMBC, while Binghamton shot past UMass Lowell 72-42 to secure the No. 6 seed thanks to a 2-0 mark against UMBC during the regular season.
Quarterfinal action begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday as Vermont hosts UMBC. Maine hosts NJIT at 6 p.m., while Binghamton plays at Bryant at 6 p.m. The Great Danes welcome New Hampshire for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.
The four quarterfinal winners will square off in the semifinals on Monday, March 10 at the two highest remaining seeds. The bracket will be re-seeded with the highest-remaining seed hosting the lowest-remaining seed and the second-highest remaining seed hosting the second-lowest remaining seed.
