BOSTON – The standings are continuing to heat up for our Men’s #AEHoops programs. UAlbany, Bryant, Maine, and Vermont all came home with road wins as the season draws to a close within the next week.
UAlbany 78, at UMBC 74 – Box Score
The Great Danes held the lead the whole match-up but UMBC remained close behind. The game came down to the wire, with each team exchanging baskets with under a minute to go. Byron Joshua led UAlbany with 22 points and three rebounds while Marcus Banks, of UMBC, led all scorers with 24 points and seven rebounds.
Bryant 79, at UMass Lowell 78 – Box Score
The River Hawks were up three at the half but a comeback and crazy finish gave Bryant the win. Earl Timberlake led the Bulldogs with 17 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and four steals, including the game winning foul shots. With time expiring, Timberlake was fouled on the drive and sank both free throws to help give Bryant their 12th conference win of the season. UMass Lowell was led by Max Brooks, who had 24 points and nine boards.
Maine 73, at New Hampshire 66 – Box Score
A tough battle for these two teams as they went back and forth throughout the game. The Black Bears were able to hold on for the win on the road. Maine had eight players score during the game and three in double digits. Kellen Tynes led the way with 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. For New Hampshire, Sami Pissis had 24 points and five boards in the contest.
Vermont 71, at NJIT 61 – Box Score
Vermont secured their seventh #AEHoops win in a row with a victory over NJIT on Thursday. The Catamounts are now in second place with two games remaining in the regular season. Despite being down at the half, Vermont’s Shamir Bogues led all scorers with 22 points and six rebounds while the team shot 46% from the field. NJIT had three players score in double-digits and were led by Tariq Francis who chipped in 20 points and three boards.
