Men's Basketball 2/24/2025 11:27:08 AM Men's #AEHoops Week 16: Vermont Keeps Rollings, Earns Top 4 Seed BOSTON – Just over one week remains in the 2024-25 men’s #AEHoops season and the race for #AEPlayoffs seeding is heating up. Bryant and Vermont still sit atop the standings in first and second place, respectively, and are the lone teams to have locked up a top four seed for the #AEPlayoffs. The Week That Was Vermont won twice last week posting wins over Bryant and UMass Lowell to move within a game of first place in the league standings. The Catamounts have won six games in a row and will be a top four seed in the #AEPlayoffs for the 19th-straight season. Binghamton won twice last week, beating UNH and Maine at home to extend its win streak to three games. The Bearcats are now fourth in the league standings. UAlbany, UMBC, UMass Lowell and UNH also picked up wins last week. The Week Ahead Bryant can earn a share of its first-ever America East men's basketball regular-season title with a win over UMass Lowell Thursday and a Vermont loss at NJIT. Maine can earn a top four seed for the first time since the 2010-11 season with a win over UNH and a loss by UAlbany on Thursday. Averaged 18.5 points over two crucial wins for Vermont. Shot 50 percent from three-point land (7-for-14). Had 17 points and made clutch late trey to help down Bryant on Thursday and bring the Cats within a game of first place in the league standings. Followed up with 20 points to help beat UMass Lowell on Saturday. This is Hurley’s first #AEHoops Player of the Week honor of the season. Co-Rookie of the Week Quentin Duncan, NJIT – Fr., Guard, Waterbury, Conn. Had 18 points and three rebounds in NJIT’s lone game of the week. Went a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point land. This is Nelson’s second #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor of the season Co-Rookie of the Week Martin Somerville, UMass Lowell – Fr., Guard, Waterbury, Conn. Averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 assists & 3.5 steals in a 1-1 week. Had his first career double-double of 18 points and 13 assists in a win over UMBC on Thursday.
