BOSTON – America East men’s lacrosse teams went 4-3 last week with four different programs earning wins. Bryant, UMBC and Vermont picked up their first wins of the season while UMass Lowell moved to 2-1.
The Bulldogs dominated Merrimack, scoring the first nine goals of the contest en route to a 1904 win. UMBC beat Drexel, 9-6, to win its season opener, while Vermont beat Manhattan, 12-6, and UMass Lowell beat Mercyhurst, 15-7.
Eight more #AEMLAX games take place this week including UAlbany battling nationally-ranked Penn on Tuesday.
The preseason poll was announced on January 14.

Offensive Player of the Week
Dawson Rielly, Bryant – Jr., Attack, Plandome, N.Y.
- Tallied a career-high six points on five goals and an assist on Saturday.
- This is Lawhorn's first career #AEMLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Hayden Almedia, UMass Lowell – So., Defender, North Kingstown, R.I.
- Had six ground balls and two caused turnovers in a pair of games last week.
- Picked up four of those ground balls and both CTs in a win over Mercyhurst.
- This is Almedia’s first career #AEMLAX Defensive Player of the Week.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Scott Einarson, Bryant – So., Goalkeeper, Billerica, Mass.
- Stopped 13 of 16 shots, an .813 save percentage, he faced in a win over Merrimack.
- This is Einarson’s first #AEMLAX Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.
Faceoff Specialist of the Week
Henry Dodge, Vermont - Jr., Faceoff, Westport, Conn.
- Went 15-18 from the faceoff spot with 11 ground balls in a win over Manhattan.
- This is Dodge's second-straight #AEMLAX Faceoff Specialist honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Danny Burke, UMass Lowell – Fr., Attack, Eden Prairie, Minn.
- Totaled nine points on three goals and six assists, alongside two ground balls, in a 1-1 week.
- This is Burke’s first career #AEMLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
