BOSTON – Maine and UAlbany are the only unbeaten teams in conference play after two games, while Vermont and Binghamton both secured their first #AEHoops victories on Saturday.
Maine 87, Bryant 64 – Box Score
The Black Bears led 19-16 after one quarter and never looked back as they shot an impressive 62.5% on Saturday to blow open a close contest. Maine hit nine threes, including a career-high five from Paula Gallego who finished with 23 points and five assists. Caroline Bournemann added 20 points and nine rebounds.
UAlbany 53, UMass Lowell 39 – Box Score
The Great Danes grabbed an 11-point lead after one quarter and outscored the River Hawks by six points in the second half to earn the 14-point victory. Lilly Phillips led a balanced scoring attack with 15 points, two blocks and two steals. Kayla Cooper added 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Vermont 72, New Hampshire 52 – Box Score
Two days after falling behind big early against UAlbany, the Catamounts shot 60% in the opening half to lead 39-24 at the half. They stretched the lead as high as 31 points in the third quarter on the way to victory. Bella Vito had 16 points and six boards while Nikola Priede came through with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Binghamton 60, UMBC 50 – Box Score
The Bearcats outscored UMBC by five in the second quarter to grab a 31-26 lead at the half. They extended that advantage to 50-38 and stretched it to 18 in the final five minutes before finishing with a 10-point victory. Kaia Goode had 15 points and four assists while Kendall Bennett came off the bench to provide 11 points, six rebounds and one block.
