Women's #AEHoops Jan. 18 Recap

BOSTON – Dominant performance were the theme of Saturday’s women’s #AEHoops action. The four winners were victorious by an average of 20.1 points as UAlbany, Maine, Bryant and New Hampshire all cruised to wins.

at UAlbany 79, at Binghamton 55 – Box Score
UAlbany had assists on over two-thirds of its baskets, dishing out 24 helpers on 32 makes in a dominant win over Binghamton. With the win, the Great Danes extended their win streak to six games and remained unbeaten in league play at 6-0. Kayla Cooper led the way with 20 points and seven assists while Kaci Donovan added 12 points and 10 boards.

at Maine 61, UMBC 47 – Box Score
Maine used a 12-0 first-half run to grow a lead it would not relinquish as it extended its home win streak against league opponents to 17 games and improved to 4-2 in #AEHoops play. Caroline Dotsey scored a team-best 17 points off the bench while Olicia Rockwood and Paula Gallego each had 14 points. Talia Davis led UMBC with a game-high 18 points.
 
Bryant 64, at UMass Lowell 43 – Box Score
Bryant held UMass Lowell to just 26 percent shooting in a stifling defensive effort to earn its second league win and snap a three-game losing skid. Breezie Williams had 18 points to pace the Bulldogs while Mia Mancini had 14 and Nia Scott provided a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Abbey Lindsey pouted in a game-high 20 points off the bench for the River Hawks.
at New Hampshire 70, NJIT 48  – Box Score
UNH jumped out to a 25-6 first quarter lead and never looked back en route to its second-straight win. The Wildcats dominated the glass, outrebounding NJIT, 41-24, and held the Highlanders to only 49 shots in the win. Eva DeChent scored 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting to pace UNH while Alejandra Zuniga’s 20 led NJIT.
