Women's #AEHoops Jan. 16 Recap

BOSTON – UAlbany, Maine, UNH and Vermont all picked up victories in women’s #AEHoops play on Thursday. The Great Danes moved to a perfect 5-0 while the Catamounts are now 4-1. The Black Bears improved to 3-2 and the Wildcats picked up their first win.

UAlbany 55, at Bryant 40 – Box Score
UAlbany outscored Bryant 15-4 in the first quarter on its way to improving to 5-0 in #AEHoops play. Kayla Cooper paced the Great Danes with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Tomasetti added 12 points and nine boards. Breezie Williams’ 15 points off the bench led the Bulldogs.

At Maine 71, NJIT 58  – Box Score
Maine outrebounded NJIT, 43-31, and grabbed 17 offensive boards leading to 11 second-chance points in its win over NJIT. Caroline Bornemann scored a career-high 34 points and added 13 boards in the effort. She also became the 26th Black Bear in program history to surpass the 1,000-point mark for her career. Alejandra Zuniga added 20 points for NJIT.
 
Vermont 55, at Binghamton 46 – Box Score
Vermont extended its win streak to four games and improved to 3-2 in league play with its win at Binghamton. The Catamounts held the Bearcats to just 36 percent shooting and a season-low 46 points. Keira Hanson’s 14 points off the bench paced the Catamounts, whole Jadyn Welz had a game-best 15 for Binghamton.
 
at New Hampshire 56, UMBC 39  – Box Score
UNH held UMBC to its second-fewest points of the season and just 34 percent shooting in a 17-point win, which snapped a four-game losing skid. Eva DeChent poured in a game-high 24 points for the Wildcats. Talia Davis led UMBC with 13.

Binghamton heads down Route 88 to visit UAlbany to highlight Saturday’s slate.
