BOSTON – Road teams had a strong Thursday night for the second-straight week as Bryant, Maine and New Hampshire picked up victories away from home while Vermont was the lone team to win at home. Bryant stayed perfect in #AEHoops play, improving to 3-0 while Maine and Vermont moved to 3-1 and UNH to 2-2.
Bryant 89, at UAlbany 79 – Box Score
Bryant shot 51 percent from the field en route to scoring 89 points to improve to a perfect 3-0 in #AEHoops play for the second-straight year. The Bulldogs used a 23-10 run to start the second half, growing a six-point advantage to 19. Rafael Pinzon led four Bulldogs in twin figures with 22 points. Earl Timberlake nearly had a triple-double contributing 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Kacper Klaczek had a double-double of 21 points and 10 boards for UAlbany.
Maine 57, at NJIT 44 – Box Score
Maine used a lockdown defensive effort to improve to 3-1 in league play. The Black Bears held NJIT to just 33 percent shooting and 44 points, including only 18 in the second half. AJ Lopez’s 18 points paced Maine, which converted 15 Highlander turnovers into 21 points. Kellen Tynes added 12 points, eight assists and four steals. Sebastian Robinson had 15 points to lead NJIT while Tim Moore contributed a double-double of 10 points and 12 boards.
at Vermont 72, Binghamton 64 – Box Score
Vermont turned 15 Binghamton turnovers, 11 of which came off of steals, into 23 points and held off the Bearcats to improve to 3-1 in conference play. Shamir Bogues made seven swipes to go with 16 points and five rebounds. TJ Hurley poured in a career-best 26 points to lead the Catamounts. Temu Chenery had 20 points to pace the Bearcats.
New Hampshire 79, at UMBC 76 – Box Score
UNH got 28 points from its bench, including 16 from Anthony McComb III’s 16 to win its second-straight. The Wildcats used a strong first half, scoring 46 points, and held off UMBC to earn the win. Sam Pissis led UNH with 17 points. Bryce Johnson had a career-high 33 points to go with eight rebounds for the Retrievers.
Saturday’s slate is highlighted by Bryant hosting UMass Lowell in matchup of 3-0 and 3-1 teams.
