Women’s #AEHoops Jan. 11 Recap

BOSTON – UAlbany outscored Maine by nine points in the fourth to remain unbeaten while the NJIT offense stayed perfect as well. Binghamton and Vermont both extended win streaks to improve to 3-1 in league play.
 
NJIT 72, UMass Lowell 54 – Box Score
The Highlanders jumped out to a 23-13 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 14 points after three periods before concluding with the 18-point victory for a fourth straight win and 3-0 mark in conference play. Alejandra Zuniga finished with 29 points and six assists while Olivia Kulyk had 13 points.
 
UAlbany 60, Maine 55 – Box Score
It was a back-and-forth contest with Maine taking a 29-27 lead at the half. The Black Bears extended their lead to 45-39 with nine minutes left in regulation, however, the Great Danes came back to tie it 47-47. It was tied again at 51 with three minutes remaining as UAlbany finished the game on a 9-4 run. Kayla Cooper had 14 points, five rebounds and five assists.
 
Binghamton 67, New Hampshire 44 – Box Score
The Bearcats extended their win streak to three games with a 23-point win over UNH. Binghamton outscored the Wildcats in every quarter, highlighted by a 24-17 outburst in the third quarter to put the game away for good. The team shot 50.9 percent as four players scored in double figures. Bella Pucci was impressive with 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists.
 
Vermont 74, Bryant 43 – Box Score
The Catamounts earned their third straight 20-point win as they led 17-11 through 10 minutes and then 44-21 at the half. Vermont shot 60.4 percent overall in the contest and was 8-for-15 from three. Anna Olson had 19 points,, while Nikola Priede came through with 14 points, four rebounds and two blocks.
