BOSTON – Over the weekend a trio of teams raced on the trails. Maine visited Columbia, Missouri to take part in the Gans Creek Invitational. Meanwhile, Vermont and Albany both competed in the RPI Harvest Classic on Friday afternoon.
This coming weekend Binghamton, UMBC, UMass Lowell, New Hampshire and NJIT will all compete in the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh.

Female Performer of the Week
Tess Fitzmaurice, UAlbany – Gr., Greenville, N.Y.
- Collected first overall to help the Great Danes earn first place as a team.
- Fitzmaurice won with a time of 18:06.6 (5:49 pace) in the 5k race.
Female Rookie of the Week
Ryan O’Connor, Maine – Fr., Milford, Pa.
- O’Connor led the Black Bears with a time of 22:01.1
- The Milford, Pa. native made her 6k debut on Friday at a 5:54 pace.
Male Performer of the Week
Luke Marsanskis, Maine – Gr., Cumberland, Maine
- Earned a team-best time of 23:17.9 in the Gans Creek Invitational.
- Ran a conference-best 8k time this year at a 4:41 pace.
Male Rookie of the Week
Jared Fortenberry, Maine – R-Fr., Marietta, Ga.
- Helped the Black Bears earn seventh overall as a squad
- Fortenberry finished the race with a time of 25.41.4 on the 8k course, which is a personal best.
