Men's Soccer 9/3/2024 1:00:00 PM #AEMSOC Week 2: Six Programs Secure Victories BOSTON – Six programs earned victories last week and a pair of programs are still unbeaten. In total, seven #AEMSOC programs are now at least .500 overall following two weekends of men’s soccer action. Need to Know: Bryant opened its season last week by going 1-0-1 without allowing a goal in a 0-0 draw and 2-0 win. The Bulldogs led the nation in GAA last year, giving up five total goals, and continued their defensive ways to start 2024. New Hampshire secured a 3-2 victory over William & Mary thanks to a pair of goals from Ibrahim Conde. Vermont went 1-0-1 on its west coast road trip, drawing 1-1 with UC Irvine and then coming through with a 1-0 win over San Diego State on Monday night. UMass Lowell is one of two unbeatens left in the league at 2-0-2 after being Saint Peter’s 3-0 and then tying with Boston University 1-1. Nine games are on the schedule this week, highlighted by Vermont hosting its first contest of the season on Saturday against American. New Hampshire will travel to Princeton on Friday evening, while UMass Lowell looks to stay unbeaten against Holy Cross and LIU in other key action. 2024 #AEMSOC Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 3 Offensive Player of the Week Ibrahim Conde, New Hampshire – Sr., Forward, Montreal, Quebec Scored twice in a 3-2 victory over William & Mary. Gave UNH a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute and then tallied the eventual game-winner in the 61st minute. This is Conde’s first #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor. Defensive Player of the Week Lou Liedtka, Vermont – Gr., Goalkeeper, Wyncote, Pa. Went 1-0-1, with a 0.500 GAA and eight saves in a pair of road wins. Allowed one goal with seven saves in a 1-1 draw at UC Irvine. Faced 10 shots and made one save to earn a 1-0 shutout against San Diego State. This is Liedtka’s first #AEMSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor. Rookie of the Week Andrew Araya, NJIT – Freshman, Midfield, Ocean Township, N.J. Recorded one goal and one assist in a 1-0-1 week. Tallied one goal and one assist in a 3-0 victory over La Salle & played 58 minutes in a 2-1 loss to UConn. This is Araya’s first #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week honor.
