#AEXC Week 2: Bryant, UMBC Sweep Weekly Awards

BOSTON - Three #AEXC programs battled this weekend in three different competitions.  

New Hampshire competed in the Friar Invitational hosted by Providence College and UMBC participated in the Navy Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy, while Bryant opened its 2024 campaign hosting the Nassaney Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  

2024 #AEXC Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 10
Female Performer of the Week 

Jasmine Trott, Bryant – Jr. Garforth, Leeds, U.K. 

  • Took first overall in the 2024 Nassaney Invitational, winning by a commanding 24 seconds. 
  • Finished the 5K course at 17:57.2. 

Female Rookie of the Week
Katie Schwaner, UMBC– Fr., Mechanicsville, Md.  

  • Finished 33rd in the Navy Cantello Invitational (6K) at 24:16.20. 
  • Made her collegiate debut in the 6K on Saturday afternoon. 

Male Performer of the Week  
Ryan Slaney, Bryant – Sr., Cumberland, R.I. 

  • Captured first overall in the Nassaney Invitational. 
  • Finished the 5K race with a time of 15:29.8 to seal the triumph. 

Male Rookie of the Week  
Kieran Mischke, UMBC – Fr., Towson, Md. 

  • Placed 24th with a time of 25:49.60 at the Navy Cantello Invitational (4.9 miles).  
  • Fourth-best finish of all freshmen in the race.
