Five Former America East Student-Athletes Prepare for 2024 Paris Olympics

BOSTON – Five former America East standouts and one incoming freshman will be taking their talents to Paris to compete in the 2024 Olympics, which begin with opening ceremonies on Friday.
 
Elle Purrier St. Pierre (New Hampshire), Emily Mackay (Binghamton) and Grace Claxton (UAlbany) will all compete on the track. St. Pierre and Mackay will both compete for the United States, while Claxton will compete for Puerto Rico. UAlbany director of track and field Roberto Vives will serve as a coach for Puerto Rico as well. St. Pierre is making her second straight Olympics, while Claxton competed in 2016, but missed 2020 due to an injury.
 
On the court, Stony Brook’s India Pagan will be competing for Puerto Rico in women’s basketball for a second straight Olympics after playing for Puerto Rico in its first-ever Olympic appearance at the 2020 games.
 
In the pool, 2024 Bryant graduate Natalia Kuipers will also be competing in her second Olympic games for the US Virgin Islands. She will be swimming in the 400 meter free. NJIT incoming freshman Illias El Fallaki will also be swimming in the games in the 400 meters, competing for Morocco.
 
Kuepers and Pagan will both be competing over the first week of the games, while track and field will get underway on August 1. See below for a complete schedule for following all the former America East stars.

Women’s 400 meter hurdles (4-7 AM) – Grace Claxton

Women’s 400 meter hurdles semifinals (1-4 PM) – Grace Claxton
 
August 8
Women’s 1500 meters semifinals (4-7 AM) – Elle Purrier St. Pierre, Emily Mackay
