CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
BOSTON – Bryant clinched its first #AEBASE regular season championship in program history last weekend, but the final two seeds in the conference tournament were decided this afternoon to conclude a wild regular season on Saturday.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 17-7 league record and conference high 33-19 mark overall for the first America East Regular Season Championship by any Bryant program. UMBC secured the No. 2 seed for a second straight season by going 14-10 in conference play.
NJIT won 7 of 9 to conclude the regular season and secure the No. 3 seed. UMass Lowell, meanwhile, went 11-12 to take the No. 4 seed. UAlbany finished with a 10-13 record, securing the No. 5 seed. Binghamton rounds out the field in the No. 6 spot, ending the season with a 10-14 record.
The four-day tournament will be streamed on ESPN+ and begins Wednesday, May 22 with a pair of single elimination contests. No. 4 UMass Lowell will face No. 5 UAlbany at 1 p.m., followed by No. 3 NJIT against No. 6 Binghamton at 5 p.m. The two winners advance to the double elimination portion of the contest on Thursday.
Top seed Bryant will open up on Thursday at 11 a.m. against the lowest remaining seed after games 1 and 2 are played, while No. 2 UMBC will face Wednesday's other winning team at 3 p.m. The day will conclude with an elimination game at 7 p.m. Friday features a pair of games, followed by Saturday’s Championship, beginning at 1 p.m. The league champion will receive an automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Baseball Championship.
