Twenty-Three #AETF Athletes Qualify for NCAA East Preliminaries

Boston, MA - Twenty-three America East student-athletes representing 6 schools were announced as individual qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary by the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country committee on Thursday.
 
These #AETF athletes earned the distinction by finishing the current outdoor track & field season ranked among the Top 48 performers in the East Region in an individual event.
 
The NCAA preliminary meets are from Wednesday, May 22, to Saturday, May 25, in Lexington, Ky. (East). The top 12 performers from each region will advance to the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships from June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore., at Historic Hayward Field.

Also traveling to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary will be UAlbany’s 4x100 team. Ranked 24th, the quartet of Shavar Staats, Shak Williams, Lucas Casab, and Rajay Morris will be competing.
 
Binghamton’s Brian Luciano and New Hampshire’s Liam McGovern kick things off on Wednesday at 10:00 AM with the hammer throw followed by the men’s javelin at 1:00 PM, men’s long jump at 6:00 PM and men’s shot put at 6:30 PM. Michael Arnold of UMBC and Binghamton’s Marcus Johnson are first up for #AETF athletes in the running events with the pair competing in the first round of 400 hurdles on Wednesday, May 22 at 8:20 PM.
