Boston, MA - Eight #AETF teams were in full swing this weekend with a few teams even competing at multiple meets this weekend, including New Hampshire and NJIT hosting their own meets. This week’s awards are highlighted by broken school records and personal bests. Looking ahead, all nine #AETF teams schools are in action with another two schools hosting meets.
Here are the week 4 #AETF Award Winners
Male Track Performer of the Week
Marcus Johnson, Binghamton - Sr., Jumps/Hurdles, Palatine Bridge, NY
- Johnson took 1st in the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.76.
- This run marks him at 2nd in America East.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Iosif Papa, UMBC - So., Throws, Nicosia, Cyprus
- Took home gold in the discus throw with a personal best toss of 193’2”.
- Papa’s throw puts him at 18th in NCAA.
Female Track Performer of the Week
Sydney Leitner, Binghamton - So., Distance, Yorktown Heights, NY
- Finished 2nd in the 10,000m coming in at 35:18.06.
- Leitner broke Binghamton’s school record in the event and is ranked 1st in the conference for the event.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Alyssa Armitage, Binghamton - So., Pole Vault, North Tonawanda, NY
- Placed 1st in the pole vault with a height of 12’ 10.75”.
- Armitage’s jump ranks her at the top of the America East leaderboard.
