Baltimore, MD - The 2024 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships get underway Saturday, May 4th at UMBC. All 9 #AETF teams will travel to Baltimore on Saturday in search of the 2024 #AETF Championship Title. The last time UMBC hosted the outdoor championships was back in 2018. The two-day event will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv and begins with the men’s 10,000m starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
- LAST YEAR: The UAlbany Great Danes women’s team won their 14th consecutive #AETF title, taking home the trophy with 218.50 points. On the men’s side, the River Hawks were crowned America East Men's Outdoor Champions for the first time in conference history with a total of 198 points.
- LAST TIME AT UMBC: The last time UMBC played host to the #AETF Championships, UAlbany swept both the men’s and women’s titles for the 10th consecutive year. Last time at UAlbany, there were 4 championship records broken by the #AETF athletes.
- REGIONAL RANKINGS: 6 institutions have broken into the top-25 of the regional rankings for both men and women teams. A total of 8 men’s teams have broken into the top-25 of the regional rankings. The pack has been consistently led by both UAlbany men’s and women's teams being ranked as high as 8th and 4th respectively this season.
- ONES TO WATCH
- Alyssa Armitage, Binghamton - Armitage shattered the #AETF indoor championship record this year in the pole vault. Armitage returns to her outdoor season ranked first in the conference.
- Amelia Benjamin, UAlbany - the rookie had a standout performance at the #AETF indoor championships with a first place finish in the high jump with a height of 5 '10.75". Benjamin is looking to sweep both indoor and outdoor titles and is currently 1st in the conference in the event.
- Caitlyn Bobb, UMBC - Bobb returns to the track after a successful indoor season. The 200m record holder returns seeking her third-consecutive win in the 400m and second 200m title. Her current time of 53.92 in the 400m ranks her 1st in the conference.
- Dominique Clarke, UAlbany - Clarke is ranked 1st in the 100m with a time of 11.47. She returns to the track not only to defend her 100m title, but is also looking to become the four-time 100m champion. Clarke also tops the America East leaderboard in the 200m with a time of 23.66.
- Kenzie Doyle, UMass Lowell - the 2023 5,000m and 10,000m champion returns. After winning the mile, 3,000m, and 5,00m at the #AETF indoor championships, Doyle continues her dominance into the outdoor season looking to defend her titles in both the 5,000m and 10,000m. This season Doyle is not only ranked first in the conference in the 5,000m and the 10,000m, but is also ranked first in the 1,500 as well.
- Louis Gordon, UAlbany - Gordon set a new record in the long jump at last year’s championship. He is back to defend his 2023 crown and record. Gordon currently ranks first in the conference in the long jump with a 24' 10" mark.
- James Kotowski, UMass Lowell - Kotowski is the 2023 javelin champion and set a new championship record at last year’s championship in the event. He returns to the stage ranked No. 10 nationally in the javelin throw with a mark of 246 '3".
- Jacob Leigh, NJIT - Looks to bring the Highlanders their first ever individual event win on the men’s side, Leigh is currently ranked 1st in the conference in the 200m with a time of 21.14.
- Brian Luciano, Binghamton - the freshman has made an impressive start to his career. Winning the weight throw at the 2024 #AETF indoor championships, Luciano continued his success in the outdoor season being ranked 25th in the East Region in the hammer throw with a throw of 209 '2".
- Josh Stone, Binghamton - Stone has had a standout outdoor season breaking Binghamton’s 10,000m school record not once, but twice this season. Stone is coming into the championships first in the conference and 34th in the East Region with a time of 28:54.10.
- Makenzie Wilson, Maine - the 2023 hammer throw champion returns to defend her title looking for back-to-back wins in the event. She broke Maine’s school record in the event this season and is ranked 8th in the East Region and 21st nationally in the event.
- Shak Williams, UAlbany - the #AETF championship record holder in the 100m dash currently sits at the top of the America East leaderboard in the 100m and 36th in the East Region with a time of 10.26. Williams also is ranked 2nd in the 200m with a time of 21.35.
