Men's #AEHoops Week 17: Playoff Picture Shaping Up Heading into Final Week

BOSTON – The playoff picture is shaping on the men’s side with just one regular-season date left on the 2023-24 schedule.
 
Vermont earned the outright regular-season crown and No. 1 seed for the upcoming Jersey Mike’s #AEPlayoffs with its win over UMass Lowell on Saturday. The Catamounts will be joined as quarterfinal hosts by #2 UMass Lowell, #3 Bryant and #4 New Hampshire.
 
The remaining four seeds remain up for grabs heading into the final day of the season on Tuesday.
 
Need to Know
  • The Catamounts’ eight straight regular-season title is the longest streak in the nation.
  • UMass Lowell beat Bryant on Thursday to earn the No. 2 seed for the second-straight year.
  • Bryant beat NJIT on Saturday and will be the No. 3 seed, a three-spot jump from being seeded No. 6 last year.
  • Despite two losses last week, New Hampshire locked up the #4 seed, the fourth-straight straight season it has been a top four seed.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

 
2023-24 Weekly Award Winners (March 4)
Player of the Week
Aaron Deloney, Vermont – Gr. Guard, Portland, Ore.
  • Scored a career-high 33 points to lead Vermont past UMass Lowell on Saturday.
  • The win gave the Catamounts the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Jersey Mike’s #AEPlayoffs.
  • Made eight three-pointers on 11 attempts.
  • Added three steals.
  • This is Deloney’s first #AEHoops Player of the Week honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Gavin Walsh, Binghamton – Fr., Forward, Baltimore, Md.
  • Averaged 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Binghamton.
  • Had 19 points and nine boards in the Bearcats’ overtime win over Maine on Thursday.
  • Followed up with nine points and nine boards in a win over UNH on Saturday.
  • This is Walsh’s second #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor this year.
