Binghamton won the battle of the NY with its win over UAlbany. NJIT 63, Vermont 61 – Box Score The Highlanders ended the nation’s longest conference win streak at 23 with an impressive defensive effort, holding Vermont to 39.2 percent shooting. It was a back-and-forth contest the entire second half, though a 7-0 run by NJIT gave them a 52-47 lead with just 4:46 left. The lead went as high as six in the final two minutes as the Highlanders held off a late UVM run. Tariq Francis went off for a career-high 31 points and eight rebounds while Elijah Buchanan added 12 points. TJ Long had 18 points and two assists to lead Vermont. Bryant 85, New Hampshire 66 – Box Score It was an impressive shooting night for the Bulldogs, who hit over 50% of their shots in each half. They grabbed a 40-28 lead at the half and pushed it to 20 points less than two minutes into the second. It went as high as 22 points before finishing with the 19-point victory. Sherif Gross-Bullock had 28 points and eight rebounds while Earl Timberlake had 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Jaxson Baker led UNH with 19 points and four rebounds. UMass Lowell 93, UMBC 80 – Box Score The River Hawks shot their way to a 41-24 lead at the half. UMBC was able to cut the deficit to 12 points early in the second, but UMass Lowell responded. The team eventually extended the lead to 20 and cruised to the 13-point victory. Max Brooks was dominant with 31 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks while Quinton Mincey had 21 off the bench. Dion Brown paced UMBC with 28 points and nine rebounds. Binghamton 69, UAlbany 57 – Box Score The Bearcats took a slim 35-32 lead at the half and methodically extended it throughout the second half. They stretched it as high as 17 points before finishing with the 12-point victory. Tymu Chenery had 18 points and seven rebounds while Armon Harried added 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Sebastian Thomas led UAlbany with 13 points, nine assists and three rebounds. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10 Vermont is still in first at 8-1, a game ahead of Bryant and UMass Lowell.
