UAlbany & Binghamton Matchup Highlight Thursday's Action

BOSTON – UAlbany looks to take over first place once again when they host Binghamton, while UMass Lowell, Vermont and New Hampshire are also home on Thursday. Just one game separates teams seeded 4-8 in the conference standings, so each contest is crucial.

Binghamton (4-5 AE) at UAlbany (8-1 AE) – 11 AM
The Bearcats seek to extend their win streak to three games when they make the trip up I-88 for a matinee battle with the Great Danes. Binghamton is 4-0 in league play this year when they reach 60 points, but they face off against a UAlbany scoring defense which is No. 2 in the nation giving up just 51.5 points per game. The Great Danes, meanwhile, are fourth in the nation in three-point percentage, shooting 40.1 percent as a team on 6.5 makes per game. UAlbany won the first matchup 60-58.

UMBC (4-5 AE) at UMass Lowell (3-6 AE) – 6 PM
Thursday’s battle between these two teams could go a long way to deciding seeding in the upcoming tournament. The River Hawks have dropped five straight games after starting league play 3-1. They face a UMBC team they beat on the road but a 59-46 margin a month ago. The Retrievers have won 2 of 3 and have scored at least 54 points in each of those three contests as they look to secure a top-four seed again this year.

NJIT (0-8 AE) at Vermont (7-2 AE) – 6 PM
The Highlanders seek their first conference win, but it won’t be easy facing the nation’s fifth best scoring defense (53.6). The Catamounts are holding teams to 38.4 percent shooting while ranking second in the league by shooting 43.2 percent overall. NJIT is giving up a league-worst 70 points per game in conference play as they try to slow down a Vermont offense which has scored 57+ points in six of its last seven games.

Bryant (3-6 AE) at New Hampshire (3-6 AE) – 6:03 PM
The Wildcats look to build off an impressive win last Saturday when they host the Bulldogs. They’ve won three straight games at home and want to make it a fourth after falling to Bryant 55-54 on the road earlier this season. In that game, Mariona Planes Fortuny hit a free throw with six seconds left to earn the win. Bryant has lost three straight, falling to reach 60 points in any of those three contests.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10
1 PM – NJIT at UMass Lowell
2 PM – Binghamton at Bryant
2 PM – New Hampshire at Maine
2 PM – UMBC at Vermont
