BOSTON – The battle for New York supremacy between Binghamton and UAlbany kicks off a great night of hoops as two of the top three teams in the league are on the road and Bryant tries to fend off a rising UNH squad in Smithfield.
UAlbany (3-5) at Binghamton (2-6) – 6:07 PM
The Great Danes have dropped two straight games in conference play and they are 0-5 when allowing 80+ points, including giving up 114 points to UMBC. They are one of the best scoring teams, putting up 82.4 ppg in league action which has allowed them to win three times. Binghamton, meanwhile, is only averaging 64.3 points per game in league play, but allowing 73.9, which is good for fifth. Earlier this season, the Great Danes earned a 95-75 win at home over the Bearcats.
New Hampshire (5-3) at Bryant (6-2) – 7 PM
The top two scorers in the league battle it out on Thursday, with Clarence Daniels (23.9) and Sherif Gross-Bullock (22.6) putting up impressive numbers in league play while shooting over 50%. The Bulldogs are second in league play in scoring (80.4) while also ranking third in the nation with 6.4 blocks per game. UNH is only putting up 76.1 points per game, but has won four of its last five games. Bryant won the first meeting between the teams, 89-74.
UMass Lowell (6-2) at UMBC (2-6) – 7 PM
The Retrievers are coming their highest scoring regulation game in program history and could pull off the upset if the offense keeps rolling. They’ve scored 209 points in the last two games, led by Dion Brown (18.3 ppg). The River Hawks, meanwhile, have dropped two of three contests and failed to reach 80 points in any of those games. They did reach the 80-point plateau in four of their first five #AEHoops contests, going 5-0 over that span.
Vermont (8-0) at NJIT (1-7) – 7 PM
Another road trip for the Catamounts begins at NJIT as they look to extend their nation-leading 23-game conference win streak. Vermont has been dominant in #AEHoops play, owning a league-best defense (59.6) and margin of victory (13.1), with eight players scoring between 11.0 and 6.0 points per game. The Highlanders this season are 5-3 when they score at least 69 points, however, 0-12 when they fail to reach that number.
