Men's #AEHoops Feb. 3 Recap

BOSTON – Vermont built up a two-game lead in the Men’s #AEHoops standings with another victory while Maine and UNH took down Bryant and UMass Lowell on Saturday. UMBC also put up 114 points to win one of the highest scoring games in league history.
 
Vermont 62, Binghamton 49 – Box Score
The Catamount offense took a while to get going, but the defense was locked in once again on the way to a 13-point victory.  Vermont led Binghamton 22-20 at the half but put up 40 points in the final 20 minutes to secure its 22nd straight conference win. Aaron Deloney led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points and five assists. Armon Harried had 12 points and seven boards for Binghamton.
 
Maine 79, Bryant 72 – Box Score
Trailing 35-33 at the half, the Black Bears clamped down on defense and found their offense to come away with the home victory against Bryant. The Bulldogs shot just 40.8 percent in the second half, while Maine shot 43.8 percent. Jaden Clayton posted a career-high 24 points with six assists and five rebounds. Peter Filipovity added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Earl Timberlake came through with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three steals for the Bulldogs.
 
New Hampshire 89, UMass Lowell – Box Score
The River Hawks suffered their second conference loss of the season. UNH led 46-39 in the first half and then outscored UML by nine points in the final 20 minutes to come away with the road victory. Clarence Daniels was unstoppable with 32 points and 12 rebounds while Jaxson Baker added 28 points. Quinton Mincey chipped in 25 points off the bench for UMass Lowell.
 
UMBC 114, UAlbany 102 – Box Score
It was the highest scoring regulation conference game in league history and UMBC came out on top with an explosive performance over the Great Danes. The Retrievers shot 57.5 percent from the field and had 23 assists while UAlbany shot an even 50% from the field. Dion Brown led the team to victory with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Bertram had 10 threes for UAlbany, tied for the third most in league history, and 36 points to lead the Great Danes.
