#AEMLAX Week 4: NJIT Keeps Winning

BOSTON – The NJIT Highlanders continued the best season in program, winning twice last week to improve to 5-0 on the season, while UMBC secured its first win of the season.
 
NJIT took down Monmouth 14-13 in overtime and held off  Manhattan 11-10 to continue the best season in program history. The Retrievers had the only other #AEMLAX win of the week, beating Mount St. Mary’s 18-6.
 
Bryant came up just short against Harvard, 14-13, and fell to Quinnipiac 13-10. UAlbany, meanwhile, lost to Penn and in overtime to Drexel last week.
 
All eight teams are back in action on Saturday, highlighted by UAlbany battling with UMass and UMBC facing Towson.
 
 
The preseason poll was announced on January 16.

#AEMLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 26
Offensive Player of the Week
Brian Tregoning, UMBC – Sr., Attack, Silver Spring, Md.
  • Netted a career-best six goals in UMBC's 18-6 win over Mount St. Mary's.
  • Added a pair of ground balls in the victory.
  • This is Tregoning’s first #AEMLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Hank Bethel, NJIT– Gr., Defender, Clarks Summit, Pa.
  • Had a team-high five caused turnovers and five ground balls in two victories.
  • Scored a man-down goal with two caused turnovers and two ground balls in a win over Monmouth.
  • This is Bethel’s first #AEMLAX Defensive Player of the Week of the season.
 
Faceoff Specialist of the Week
Henry Dodge, Vermont – So., Faceoff Specialist, Westport, Conn.
  • Won 22 of 33 faceoffs with a career-best ten ground balls in a loss to Utah.
  • This is Dodge’s first career #AEMLAX Faceoff Specialist of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
James Donnelly, UMass Lowell – Fr., Goalkeeper, Peachtree City, Ga.
  • Scored a career-high two goals alongside an assist, three ground balls, and a caused turnover in a loss to Siena.
  • This is Donnelly’s first #AEMLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
