BOSTON, MA - The 2024 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships kicked off today returning to the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.

The men’s teams started off day 1 with a strong start. The Binghamton men’s team leads the pack with 48 points. UMass Lowell and UAlbany are in a tight race behind the Bearcats closing up the top-3 with 37 and 36 points respectively.
On the women’s side, the Bearcats are also on top with 46 points. Followed by New Hampshire in second place with 36 points and UMass Lowell coming in at 3rd with 34 points.
The women’s results were highlighted by Alyssa Armitage of Binghamton who broke the pole vault record set in 2016.
Day 1 Highlights
- Cheyenne Figueroa of Maine kicked things off winning her first #AETF individual title in the weight throw with a throw of 62' 1".
- Brandon Love, the 2023 Most Outstanding Field Performer and pole vault champion won his second straight pole vault title jumping a distance of 15' 9".
- Efe Omokeni became the two-time indoor #AETF long jump champion. Omokeni won with a jump of 18' 9.75”.
- Binghamton’s Alyssa Armitage took home gold for the second straight year in the pole vault. The Bearcat shattered the #AETF pole vaulting record with a height of 13' 3½".
- Freshman Brian Luciano of Binghamton won his first #AETF title in the men’s weight throw with a toss of 67' 10".
- Repeat champion, Louis Gordon of UAlbany was crowned the long jump champion for the second straight year with a distance of 24' 10".
- Kenzie Doyle, the 2023 Coaches’ Award recipient and 5000m champion defended her 5000m title taking home gold with a time of 16:12.40.
- Coming in at 14:38.19 in a true photo finish winning by just one-one hundredth of a second, Josh Stone from Binghamton edged out a victory in the men’s 5000m race.
- Binghamton’s quartet of Ana Mordvinova, Jessica Prentice, Zoe Rose, and Sophia Ryan took home gold in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:47.26, winning their 3rd DMR gold medal in 4 years.
- In the men’s distance medley relay, New Hampshire’s Aidan Shea, Adrian Sutton, Kevin Finn, and Aidan O'Hern emerged victorious in the last event of the night winning with a time of 9:47.36.
