Teams Fight for Playoff Positioning This Week

BOSTON – It’s a huge week of contests as teams start jockeying for playoff position with just three weeks left in the regular season.

After almost getting swept last week, Vermont returns home and looks to make a statement against New Hampshire. The Wildcats, meanwhile, are trying to secure a home quarterfinal contest and a win over the Catamounts on the road would be a big step toward that opportunity. This is the first matchup between the two teams this year, and they split the series last year.

NJIT, meanwhile, tries to extend its win streak to three and move up the standings with a road contest against UAlbany. The Great Danes won the first meeting by six back in January, but they’ve dropped three straight and six of seven games. Bryant is back home as the Bulldogs look to hold onto their top-two seed while UMBC and Binghamton battle for one of the last playoff spots.

On Saturday, the biggest contest of the day will be UMass Lowell at Bryant. It is the first matchup between the teams this season. If the Bulldogs win Thursday and can hold off the River Hawks they would move two games ahead of UML for the No. 2 seed with just four regular season games remaining.
