Conference play starts Thursday with four contests. The Week That Was Maine went 1-1 last week, falling to FDU 66-48, but rebounding for an impressive 66-55 victory over Coppin State. The Black Bears hit 15 threes in the win, including four from Caroline Dotsey. NJIT snapped a losing streak on Monday with an impressive 89-60 victory over LIU as five players scored in double figures, led by Alejandra Zuniga with 20 points and seven assists. New Hampshire improved to 6-7 with a 74-57 win over Stonehill on the road thanks to 25 points, 11 rebounds and six assists from Clara Gomez. UAlbany led No. 6 LSU 38-34 at the half and grabbed a 59-58 lead with 7:50 left before ultimately falling 83-61. UMBC secured a 101-49 victory over Bryn Athyn for its highest scoring output since 2009. Looking Ahead Conference play begins on Thursday, highlighted by a rematch of the 2024 #AEHoops Semifinals as the Great Danes host Vermont at 6:30 p.m. The two teams own the two best NET ratings in the league at 114 and 118. Defending champion Maine travels to face UMass Lowell at 6 p.m. Maine has the third highest NET in the conference at 234. New Hampshire welcomes Bryant at 6 p.m., and NJIT hosts Binghamton at 6 p.m. as well. On Saturday, UMBC starts conference play by hosting Binghamton, while Maine hosts Bryant, UMass Lowell welcomes UAlbany and New Hampshire travels to Vermont. . Shot 10-for-15 from the field and had just one turnover in leading UNH to the win. This is Gomez’ first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor. Rookie of the Week Elizabeth Lavoie, New Hampshire, Fr., Guard, Derry, N.H. Scored a career-best 18 points on 7 of 8 shooting in a 74-57 win against Stonehill. Added two rebounds, one assist and one steal while hitting four threes in the win. This is Lavoie’s first #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor this season.
