BOSTON – The 2024-25 #AETF season is underway as all nine programs started their seasons last week. The action-packed weekend featured multiple school records broken, many personal bests set and 17 athletes breaking into the top-25 of the NCAA.
This coming weekend, Maine will host its Black Bear Invite, while NJIT and Vermont are heading to the Wagner Shootout and Dartmouth Heptathlon, respectively.

Male Field Athlete of the Week
Brian Luciano, Binghamton – So., Somers, N.Y.
- Won the hammer at the Cornell/Greg Page Relays with a throw of 20.45m
- Luchiano’s mark currently ranks seventh in the NCAA
- This is Luciano’s second career #AETF Field Athlete of the Week honor
Male Track Athlete of the Week
Hassan Abidi, UAlbany– Sr., Rades, Tunisia
- Set a personal-best, 2:22.64, in the 1000m to finish 7th at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener
- This is Abidi’s first indoor #AETF Track Athlete of the Week honor
Male Rookie of the Week
Tooni Ogunyeye , UAlbany– Fr., Brampton, Canada
- Finished second at the Crowell Open in the 60m dash running 6.77
- This is Ogunyeye ‘s first #AETF Rookie of the Week honor
Female Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week
Sarah Moore, New Hampshire– Fr.,Libson, Maine
- Recorded a mark of 6.82m on her final jump to place second at the Alden Invite
- Moore’s jump broke the school record established in 2022 by her teammate Olivia Chamberlain.
- This is Moore’s first #AETF weekly honor
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Jenna Chan, Binghamton – Gr., Roseland, N.J.
- Ran 8.44 in the prelims of the 60 hurdles, breaking her own school record of 8.46
- She clocked a time of 8.47 to win the finals at the Cornell/Greg Page Relays
- This is Chan’s third #AETF Track Athlete of the Week honor
