New Hampshire & Vermont Named Co-Regular Season Champions as the #AEMSOC Bracket is Set

BOSTON – The seeding for the 2024 America East Men’s Soccer Championship came down to the final game of a wild regular season. New Hampshire and Vermont finished tied atop the standings with 14 points to both earn the honor of co-regular season champions, but the Wildcats earned the top seed due to a tiebreak.
 
The championship commences on Saturday with quarterfinal action. All games of the 2024 America East Men’s Soccer Championship will air on ESPN+ domestically and AmericaEast.TV internationally. The final seeds for the 2024 America East Men’s Soccer Championship are:
 
  1. New Hampshire (14 pts)  – Earned No. 1 seed and a share of the regular season title for the sixth straight season.
  2. Vermont (14 pts) – Secured a share of the regular season championship for the first time since 2019.
  3. UMBC (13 pts) - No. 3 seed for the third consecutive year
  4. Bryant (12 pts) – Second straight championship appearance for the defending champions.
  5. NJIT (8 pts) – Fifth consecutive championship berth in five years as a member of America East
  6. Binghamton (8 pts) – Made its third straight conference tournament
 
This marks the sixth consecutive No. 1 seed and regular season title for the Wildcats, setting a new #AEMSOC record and breaking a tie with Boston University who won five straight titles from 1990-94. UNH earned the top seed over the Catamounts despite both teams finishing with 14 points.
The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in September, but UVM lost to No. 3 seed UMBC 1-0 while UNH took down the Retrievers  2-1, capturing the tiebreak. Both teams will enjoy quarterfinal byes and return to action on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. No. 5 NJIT secured the tiebreak over No. 6 Binghamton due to its victory against the Bearcats earlier this season. 
 
UMBC came through with a 1-0 victory against NJIT on Tuesday night to secure the No. 3 seed and they will host No. 6 Binghamton, who played to a 1-1 draw with the Catamounts, on Saturday at 7 p.m.
 
Bryant’s 4-0 win over UAlbany provided them with the No. 4 seed, and they’ll welcome No. 5 NJIT for a 6 p.m. quarterfinal contest on Saturday.
 
The winner of Bryant-NJIT will face New Hampshire on Wednesday at 6 p.m., while the winner of UMBC-Binghamton will play at Vermont on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
 
The semifinal winners will face off for the 2024 conference title at the higher remaining seed on Sunday, Nov. 17.
