Swimming & Diving 11/5/2024 1:00:00 PM #AESD Week 5: All Seven Teams Compete BOSTON – All seven teams were in action this past weekend, highlighted by Bryant and NJIT competing in a pair of meets. The Bulldogs raced against Providence and Holy Cross, while NJIT faces Villanova and Georgetown. Binghamton earned a 198-98 victory over Canisius while Vermont took down Maine 178-119. This coming Friday, Binghamton hosts Cornell while NJIT welcomes Marist. VMI, meanwhile hosts a tri-meet on Saturday with Saint Peter’s and UMBC. 2024-25 #AESD Weekly Award Winners – Nov. 5 Female Swimmer of the Week Grace Mahon, New Hampshire – So., Orange, Conn. Earned a pair of wins in her individual events this past weekend. Took first in the 100 fly (56.37) and then won the 200 free in 1:55.97. Was integral in a 200-yard medley team. This is Mahon’s first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor this year. Female Diver of the Week Megan Beasley – So., Harrogate, England Won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in meets against Providence and Holy Cross this weekend. Scored 297.45 in the 1-meter and 284.55 in the 3-meter against Providence. Finished with a 290.10 score in the 1-meter and a 280.13 score in the 3-meter against Holy Cross. This is Beasley’s third #AESD Diving of the Week honor this season. Female Rookie of the Week Ruby Tonelli-Smith, Bryant – Fr., Sydney Australia This weekend earned a pair of victories in the 100 fly and 200 fly against Holy Cross. Finished the 100 fly in 57.34 and won the 200 fly in 2:05.79. This is Tonelli-Smith’s second #AESD Rookie of the Week honor. Male Swimmer of the Week Elijah Lanfear, Binghamton – Sr., Binghamton, N.Y. Won the 100 back, 100 free and 100 fly events against Canisius while also swimming on a first place 200 medley relay team. Lanfear’s free time is the third fastest in the league and he is one of three swimmers to go under 50 seconds in the 100 fly. This is Lanfear’s third #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor this season. Male Diver of the Week Chris Buonocore, Bryant – So., Long Beach N.Y. Won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with new school records. Finished with a score of 336.07 in the 1-meter and 352.50 in the 3-meter event This is Buonocore’s second #AESD Diving of the Week honor this year. Male Rookie of the Week Pawel Drzymala, NJIT – Fr., Garfield, NJ Won the 200 fly against Villanova in 1:52.92, which is the sixth fastest time in the conference this year. Also took second in the 100 fly (51.88) Earned a win in the 100 fly and took second in the 200 fly against Georgetown.
