Field Hockey 11/4/2024 1:00:00 PM #AEFH Week 10: UAlbany Finishes Regular Season Unbeaten BOSTON – No. 14 UAlbany took home the outright regular season championship by finishing #AEFH action 6-0 on Friday as the top four seeds were all decided. On Sunday, UMass Lowell beat UC Davis to conclude the regular season. The Great Danes will host the #AEFH Championship for the first time since 2015. New Hampshire earned its first No. 2 seed since 2014, while Maine, Vermont, UMass Lowell and UC Davis made up the rest of the field. Need to Know: Maine came through with its most impressive win of the season, shutting out the Wildcats 2-0 to take home the No. 3 seed. UMass Lowell had an impressive weekend, beating No. 20 Rutgers 2-1 in overtime on Friday and then clinching the No. 5 seed on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over UC Davis. The Aggies earned their first Championship berth since 2018 with a 5-2 win over Bryant on Friday, before Sunday’s loss to the River Hawks. The Great Danes earned their perfect regular season with a 3-1 victory over Vermont. This year’s #AEFH Championship begins on Thursday as No. 3 Maine faces No. 6 UC Davis at 11 a.m. No. 4 Vermont and No. 5 UMass Lowell follow at 2 p.m. In the semifinals on Friday, No. 2 New Hampshire will face the winner of the 3/6 matchup while No. 1 UAlbany battles the winner of the 4/5 matchup. Finished with two goals and two assists in a 5-2 win over Bryant secure a playoff spot. Added one assist in a 4-1 loss to UMass Lowell. This is Koop’s first career #AEFH Offensive Player of the Week honor. Defensive Player of the Week Jade Temby, Maine – So., Goalkeeper, Melbourne, Victoria Earned first career shutout in 2-0 victory over No. 2 seed UNH. Stopped five shots to help Maine secure the No. 3 seed in the #AEFH Championship. This is Temby’s first #AEFH Defensive Player of the Week honor. Rookie of the Week Karlijn Kerkhof, UMass Lowell – Fr., Midfielder, Rotterdam, Netherlands Had one goal and one assist in a pair of home wins. Scored the game-tying goal in the second half against #20 Rutgers in an eventual 2-1 OT victory Tallied an assist in a 4-1 victory over UC Davis to clinch the No. 5 seed.
